Club Leaders

Club Leaders meet with a small group of children or youth on a regular basis to facilitate  outdoor, craft, field trip, service, and other learning and growth activities and accompany youth and family members on Council sponsored and club campouts.  All training, curriculum and support provided by Camp Fire USA Balcones Council.

Camp Fire Kids Unplugged Club Steward
Camp Fire Family Nature Clubs are beginning the second century with a program that meets the needs of today's families: it's informal, loosely structured and fits easily into busy schedules. It includes a high level of support, age-appropriate challenge, and recognition.
As the Steward, you are critical to the success of your club. While the club's Mentor and other Balcones Council staff will support the administrative aspects of the program, the parents and children in your club will look to you for direction on how to participate.
You will lead club outings (once per month on weekends) and model appropriate behaviors--especially curiosity, attentiveness to the natural world, respect for people and places, and openness to what the outing has to offer. With your knowledge of the program and your desire to help other families enjoy the outdoors, you can be an invaluable source of inspiration and encouragement for families who are new to outdoor adventure.

Camp Fire Kids Unplugged Subject-Matter Experts
Field experts who are able to actively engage youth based on their expertise in areas
such as environmental interpretation, hiking, cycling, fishing, biking, kayaking, wildlife
rehabilitation, rock climbing, caving and mountaineering.
