Camp Fire USA Balcones Council has After-School programs in the Austin, Pflugerville and Round Rock Independent School Districts. For more information please email our Program Coordinator, Matthew Keith, or call the Camp Fire office at (512)349-2111.
Free Minds Project
Camp Fire USA Balcones Council and the Free Minds Project were recently named as a Finalist in the Collaboration category of the Greenlights For Nonprofit Success - Nonprofit Excellence Awards 2008.
The Free Minds Project is sponsored by the University of Texas at Austin Humanities Institute in partnership with Austin Community College, Foundation Communities, Austin Public Library, Austin Parks and Recreation Department, and Camp Fire USA Balcones Council. Additional supporters include the UT Austin Department of Rhetoric and Writing, Skillpoint Alliance, and Book People. The project has received generous financial support from the Webber Family Foundation, the KDK-Harman Foundation, the Sooch Foundation, and the Austin Community Foundation.
